The City of Monash is a local government area in Victoria, situated in the south- eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Monash encompasses about 82 square kilometres of area and services over 200,000 people. Suburbs within the municipality include Ashwood, Clayton, Glen Waverley, Hughesdale, Huntingdale, Mount Waverley, Mulgrave, Notting Hill, Oakleigh, Oakleigh East and Wheelers Hill.The municipality is home to Chadstone shopping centre (the largest shopping centre in the southern hemisphere), Monash University (leading world-ranked university), Monash Hospital and many other well-known landmarks.

The city of Monash has been named after Sir John Monash who served in  WWI as our commander. Monash enjoys many sporting clubs including the soccer club Oakleigh Cannons, the Aussie rules club Oakleigh Charges just to name a few. Monash also provides numerous educational facilities including over 40 primary and secondary schools. As previously mentioned world ranked Monash University’s major campus is in Clayton.  The University enjoys over 1.1sqkm of land even boasting its own postcode (3800). Monash University is home to the most prestigious courses on offer anywhere in the world with students from all over the world seeking admission to this prestigious institution. The city of Monash enjoys a diverse background of residents and a mixture of businesses and industries.
